The Problem
Acting studios juggle two hard things at once: helping students present themselves professionally, and connecting them to real casting opportunities. Truthful Acting was running both through spreadsheets, shared drives, and long email chains... headshots buried in a discord channel, casting calls forwarded by hand, enrollment and payments tracked in separate documents. There was no single place for industry professionals to discover the studio's talent, and no consistent way for students to apply and follow up.
The Solution
A single, invite-only platform with three roles: students, industry professionals, and admins - each seeing exactly what they should. Students build a standardized profile once; an admin approves it; approved talent becomes discoverable to vetted industry users, who post casting calls and review applicants in the same place students apply. Every permission is enforced at the database level, so visibility is a guarantee, not a UI convention.
The Product
Truthful Acting is a studio-managed talent and casting platform that replaces scattered tools with one URL. Instead of chasing headshots over email and forwarding casting calls by hand, the studio runs talent, discovery, and applications through a single role-aware system.
New users join by invitation and are guided through a role-specific onboarding wizard, including a parent-consent step for students under 16. From there, students maintain a profile (headshot, photo gallery, resume, skills, and bio), make it public, and apply to open casting calls. Industry users browse approved talent, post and manage casting calls through a clear draft → open → closed → archived lifecycle, and move applicants through shortlist / reject / reconsider. Admins approve profiles, manage class enrollment, record payments, and keep notes - all from one dashboard.

- Studio Operations - Class enrollment, payment tracking, and per-student notes give admins the back-office tools to run the studio alongside the casting side.
